IDS validation workflows and common pitfalls
@exynixExynix Team
An IDS requirement is most useful when it is narrow, testable, and tied to an agreed delivery purpose. Common pitfalls include ambiguous applicability, relying on display labels instead of stable property identifiers, contradictory cardinality rules, and treating technically valid values as semantically correct without project context.
A practical workflow versions the IDS alongside the delivery requirement, tests it on a small known model, records the validator/version, separates authoring fixes from export mapping fixes, and reviews false positives before scaling.
